Stitch Multiple Calculator
Check if your stitch count works for a pattern multiple. Find the nearest valid counts and see all options within a range.
Understanding Pattern Multiples
When a pattern says "multiple of 6", it means your cast-on must divide evenly by 6: 12, 18, 24, 30… are all valid.
When a pattern says "multiple of 6 + 2", it means: a valid base multiple, plus 2 extra edge stitches. Valid counts: 8, 14, 20, 26, 32… (each is 6×n + 2).
The "+2" often represents edge stitches or selvedge stitches that balance the pattern at the beginning and end of a row.

| Multiple of 4+2 | 2x2 Ribbing with edge stitches | 22, 26, 30, 34… |
| Multiple of 6 | Lace, cable, textured patterns | 18, 24, 30, 36… |
| Multiple of 6+2 | Lace with selvedge | 20, 26, 32, 38… |
