Heel Turn Calculator

Enter your heel flap stitch count and get complete, row-by-row heel turn instructions with exact stitch counts.

How to Use

  1. Heel flap stitch count: This is typically half your total sock stitch count (e.g., for 64-stitch socks, enter 32).
  2. Total sock stitch count: The full round stitch count of your sock.
  3. Click Generate Instructions to get your complete heel-turn recipe.

Tips

  • The heel flap must be an even number of stitches for a standard turn.
  • Pick up one stitch for every slipped stitch along each edge of the heel flap.
  • Work the gusset decreases every other round until you return to your original stitch count.
  • German short-row heels create no gap and are great for narrow heels.
