About diamond painting sizes
Standard diamond painting drills are 2.5mm wide. Each diamond covers 2.5mm × 2.5mm of the canvas. To find the finished size, multiply the diamond count by the drill size. Round drills and square drills are both 2.5mm for most kits.
- A 120×160 diamond canvas with 2.5mm drills = 30cm × 40cm finished
- Add 10–20% extra diamonds per color for waste and replacements
- Square drills give denser coverage than round drills
Canvas sizes listed by sellers are usually the total canvas including blank borders, not the stitching area. The stitching area is typically a few centimeters smaller on each side.
