How to use this calculator

Enter the time and material cost for a single item, then set your batch size. The calculator scales everything up, applies any batch efficiency you've found (e.g. working in assembly-line fashion saves 10–20% time), and shows total labor cost and overall cost per item.

  • Efficiency savings: Many crafters find batch-making the same item cuts time per unit by 10–25% compared to making items one at a time
  • Overhead: Include shared costs like tissue paper, boxes, labels, or platform fees that apply to the whole batch
  • Use this alongside the Profit Margin Calculator to set your selling price

Labor cost is calculated as (time × hourly rate). Set your hourly rate to what you need to earn, not minimum wage, to ensure your pricing is sustainable.
